There are many things that make LED light much more efficient to use, in contrast to other types of lights that are being used today, that it is hard to answer the question “Why are LED lights more efficient?” in just a few words. Some people get put off by the initial cost involved with replacing all of the light bulbs in their home with LED bulbs. While it may be more expensive to buy LED light bulbs than it is other light bulbs, the money saved in a number of ways, will most certainly make up for any money that is spent in making the transition to LED light technology.
Unlike other bulbs that do become hot, or have a heat up time in order to operate, LED lights withstand elements such as electrical surges much better. Because of this, LED lights have the longest lifespan of any light bulb that can be purchased at this point in time. This means less bulb replacements and in turn, more money saved. LED lights are rated as lasting about 100,000 hours, or ten years. In some cases there have even been reports of LED light bulbs lasting for longer than 10 to 15 years! That is a very impressive lifespan for a light bulb.
And why choose LED lights? Because they are cost effective in terms of energy, are durable and long lasting, and they are safer for the environment just to name a few reasons. There are many more reasons to choose LED lights but the best way to find out first hand is for a person to try them out and make his/her own decision. Perhaps just changing one light bulb at a time will be a good way to assess whether or not LED light is preferred.
